“ Technology continues to change; however, our focus remains constant on student success”
– Sharon Goldstein, Campus Operating Officer, Berkeley College Online.
The year 2013 was an accomplished year for Berkeley College Online, as the college received the Certification of Excellence by the United State Distance Learning Association (USDLA). Berkeley’s online program was the first in New York and New Jersey to achieve this certification, becoming a landmark achievement in Berkeley’s over 80 year history.
With the start of the new year, Berkeley College Online has another achievement to celebrate. The College is celebrating the recognition of U.S. News and World Report, who listed Berkeley Online among the Best Online Bachelor’s Programs. U.S. News and World Report is a widely recognized standard of college rankings and information on higher education.
Members of Berkeley’s online community are delighted, as they have continued to work over the past 15 years to create an innovative and successful online learning environment for their students.
“ I was nervous about taking online courses at first, but once the quarter began I found that I would prefer online classes for most courses as opposed to on-campus. I thought I wouldn’t be as in touch with my professors as I was on-campus, but I found that they are just as committed as if you were in a classroom.”
– Jasmine Lee Henderson, Fashion Major.
The online program has flourished since Berkeley College first began offering distance learning courses in 1998 and accredited online degrees in 2003. Today, 2,629 Berkeley College students are enrolled in at least one online course. Berkeley College Online offers 250 online courses each quarter.
