Fashion week has begun! The city turns into one big fashion-themed party and I get to run around from event to event. I meet designers, photographers, models and other industry insiders. I get an early look at some beautiful collections, which I then help to create buzz for on social media for our magazine. It’s so much fun, it’s the most exciting time of the year for me! I have one show and two presentations scheduled so far – a good start to the busy week ahead.
My day started at 11 am, I had one show and two presentations, a good way to start the week. First was Hellessy, a growing designer label by Sylvie Millstein, a Paris-born designer who previously worked for Chanel in Japan. The collection had a very comfortable and lux feeling, a lot of silk and wool, with touches of Japanese influenced design. The second presentation I went to was Charles Youssef, a Lebanese Ready To Wear designer based in New York. His collection had a dark color palette, mostly black on black with a touch of yellow.
After Charles Youssef, I ran back to my office and grabbed some lunch before running to the last show of the day – Protagonist. A lot of over sized coats, suits and knit dresses. All the models looked amazing today (as always), it’s so fascinating to see how creative the designers needs to be, the importance of hair and makeup is unbelievable. More to come tomorrow!
